5 days before my wisdom tooth extraction is done. And still I am am feeling numbness in my tongue after 5 days. What is this issue and how it will be treated. Please help

I am facing a typical problem. My mother 81 years old was in hospital for 10 days due to brain stroke. After discharge during sleep she bites her lips with front teeth.
