Losing weight is really important.
Since the patient is diabetic there should be not long gaps between meals..take every meal in every 2 hours.
We can give you an example of a good diet with timing :
Early morning : ( 5 Am- 6 AM ) : tea/ coffee with 2 biscuits
Prefer toned/ double toned milk
Prefer atta biscuits instead of maida.
Breakfast : ( 9 AM- 10 AM)poha/ dhokhla/ egg white
Mid morning : (11 -11:30 AM) fruit/ coconut water.
( Avoid fruits such as mango , banana, cheeku, grapes & litchi)
SAY NO TO JUICE
Lunch: (1-2 PM)salad + dal + sabji + rice
( Avoid aloo, sweet potato and arbi )
Amount of all should be 1 katori.
Prefer eating salad before food
evening tea: (5-6 PM) : tea / coffee with 2 biscuits.
Dinner : Same as lunch
Post dinner ( before bed ) : milk without sugar
Remember : post dinner is very important as it controls the blood sugar levels of next day.
You need to take high fiber low fat diet. Drink lot of water everyday. Take small and frequent meals at regular intervals of 2-3 hrs. Avoid outside food completely. Ask me directly for customized diet plan for you.
