The white dots in your throat (which sound like small white patches or spots) are not a specific or common symptom of HIV, especially not in isolation without other signs like fever, rash, swollen lymph nodes, or fatigue. They could be caused by many other things, such as oral thrush (a fungal infection), tonsil stones, irritation from gargling, allergies, or a bacterial/viral infection unrelated to HIV. Since you mentioned doing salt water gargles for a day and the issue resolved somewhat, it might just be minor irritation or something benign. Without seeing the photo clearly or examining you, I can't diagnose it—strongly recommend seeing a doctor or ENT specialist for a proper check, as throat issues can sometimes need antibiotics or other treatment.
Next Steps
if you're anxious, the best way to know your status is to get tested yourself—modern HIV tests (like 4th-gen antigen/antibody tests) can detect infection as early as 18-45 days post-exposure, with high accuracy by 6-8 weeks. No need to panic based on what you've described, but testing gives peace of mind. If you have any other risk factors or ongoing symptoms, consult a healthcare provider ASAP.

These white spots are NOT HIV symptoms. HIV does not present as isolated throat spots. Partner’s HIV test at 57 days is non-reactive → risk is negligible. Likely causes: tonsillitis / tonsil stones / minor infection. Continue warm saline gargles. You can consult with me via Practo or an ENT specialist for reassurance, treatment and guidance.
