Please don’t panic. A white patch on the tonsil that improves with warm salt water gargles is most commonly due to tonsillitis or local throat infection, not HIV. HIV does not present as a single white spot on one side of the throat that comes and goes. Regarding your exposure: • First time — condom used properly, no break → No HIV risk. • Second time — condom broke but you changed it immediately → risk is still very low, especially if no prolonged unprotected exposure. Also, your friend tested HIV negative at 54 days, which is reassuring. If you are still worried, you can do a 4th generation HIV test at 6 weeks or 12 weeks for complete peace of mind. Right now, your throat issue sounds like simple tonsillitis. Continue gargles and complete the prescribed medicines. If white patch persists more than 7–10 days, see an ENT doctor. This does NOT sound like HIV symptoms. You are likely fine.

You have already shared all details clearly, and medically there is no significant HIV risk in your situation. Condom was used, exposure was protected, and partner tested negative at 54 days, which is strongly reassuring. Your throat symptom is a local tonsil issue, not related to HIV. HIV does not cause isolated white patches that improve with gargles and antibiotics. Right now the main problem is health anxiety, not infection. Repeated worry will only increase stress and body sensations. Trust the facts you already know. If you still want 100 percent confirmation for mental peace, you can do a 4th generation HIV test at 90 days, which will be conclusive. Otherwise, you are safe. Stay calm, avoid overthinking, and focus on normal routine. If anxiety continues, you can consult me or text me anytime for reassurance.
