Dear Patient, From your description, the white spots in the throat that disappear with warm water gargle are most likely due to minor irritation or mild fungal infection, and are not a specific symptom of HIV. Regarding your HIV exposure concerns: - You used condoms in both instances; only in the second instance did the condom break for a few minutes, which is a low-risk exposure. - Your friend tested negative on day 54, which significantly lowers the risk of HIV transmission from that encounter. - HIV symptoms do not appear as brief white spots in the throat. Early HIV symptoms, if any, usually include fever, rash, fatigue, sore throat, and swollen lymph nodes, and occur 2–4 weeks after exposure. What you should do - Monitor for any persistent symptoms like fever, rash, persistent sore throat, or swollen lymph nodes - Maintain safe sexual practices (condoms every time) - Consider HIV testing at 3 months post-exposure for reassurance if concerned Consult me - Persistent white spots or pain in throat - Any systemic symptoms like fever, rash, fatigue - Anxiety or stress affecting daily life due to HIV concerns For further guidance and personalized treatment you may consult me on Practo anytime.
