This does not look like typical nail fungus. Pain and redness under many toenails is more likely skin or nail-fold irritation/infection. Keep feet dry, avoid tight shoes and apply a plain antifungal cream twice daily for 2 weeks. If there is pus or no improvement in 10 days, please see a doctor in person.

the most likely cause is interdigital tinea pedis (fungal infection / athlete’s foot).
Other possibilities include contact dermatitis or intertrigo, but itching + redness between toes strongly favors a fungal infection.its completely treatable in 3 to 5 days.keep feet dry and apply antifungal ointment. Consult for further management.
