Risk is low to moderate (oral very low, anal with condom = protected). Starting PEP within 72 hrs is good → you are well protected

Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) is most effective when started as soon as possible, ideally within 2 to 24 hours. While the medical window extends up to 72 hours, the efficacy of the medication decreases as the time from exposure increases. Since you started Duovir-N around the 50-52 hour mark, you are still within the 'Golden Window' (72 hours), and the treatment can still be effective in preventing viral replication. Regarding the act, oral sex carries a significantly lower risk compared to unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse, but the risk is not zero, especially if there were any mucosal abrasions or bleeding."
Next Steps
Complete the 28-Day Course: It is absolutely critical that you do not miss a single dose of Duovir-N for the full 28 days. Missing doses can lead to treatment failure or drug resistance. Baseline & Follow-up Testing: You must get tested for HIV (4th Gen p24 Ag/Ab combo) at baseline (now), at 6 weeks, and finally at 3 months post-exposure to confirm your status. Side Effect Monitoring: PEP medications can cause nausea, fatigue, or liver strain. If you experience severe jaundice or persistent vomiting, medical review is necessary.

Please go for a proper consultation for further evaluation. A detailed history and examination are needed to understand your symptoms correctly. Without this, it’s difficult to give the right treatment. Kindly bring any previous reports or prescriptions.
