Muscle pain in chest

Asked for Male, 28 Years

I have been suffering from side muscle pain in chest from last 3 weeks,consulted doctor,he said it's costochondrities,and gave medicines for 10 days,pain relieved a bit ,but after I stopped taking medicines ,it's back again.what should I do?

Hello. Very Good evening. I'm Dr.Yogesh Kr Sharma. If you having a history of Trauma to your ribs which you didn't mentioned, I think doctor made an accurate diagnosis of Costochondritis. I know ribs are there and its painful but with muscle relaxants & other antiinflammatory drugs, it takes 2-4 months for complete relief. Meanwhile you can go to physiotherapist and explain the siituation. Also apply ice pack s to the affected area. Don't do the hot fomentation, it will worsen the problem. Take care and have a hasty recovery. Bye.
