Nasal congestion and chest congestion
It started with sneezing and constant runny nose three days back. I took Montek LC tablets for 3 days. But now I have nasal congestion and chest congestion with cough. While coughing, mild chest pain and burning sensation. Not much mucus coming out. Also, I have average fever with body ache. Please advice medicine and cough syrup.

This sounds like a viral cold/flu with nasal and chest congestion. Advice: Steam inhalation 2–3 times daily. Drink plenty of warm fluids. Paracetamol 650 mg for fever/body ache. Expectorant cough syrup may help loosen chest congestion. Continue anti-allergy medicine if runny nose persists. If high fever, breathing difficulty, worsening chest pain, wheezing, or symptoms last more than 7–10 days, please see a doctor.

Your symptoms have progressed from an upper respiratory infection (runny nose, sneezing) to now involve the chest — with nasal and chest congestion, cough, mild chest pain and burning on coughing, fever, and body ache. This worsening over 3 days with chest involvement needs proper medical evaluation to rule out bronchitis or early pneumonia. Montek LC is primarily an antiallergic medication and is not adequate treatment for a viral or bacterial respiratory infection that has spread to the chest — a clinical examination is essential before deciding on further treatment.
Next Steps
Please consult a physician in person for examination and possibly a chest X-ray. Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.
