Itching with antibiotics
Hello doctor,
I have been using antibiotic (safixim o) from past 1 day and i have been suffering from itching after start of medication.
On 1 st dose itching started with foot, at night for the 2 nd dose itching spread to hands and back.
But the itching is not severe it's very mild.
Now should I discontinue the medication?
Or should I use any antihistamines and complete the course.
Is there any problem with discontinuation of antibiotics?
I have been prescribed antibiotics for fever for 3 days.
Now fever subsided I have mild weakness, loss of appetite.

Stop antibiotics as you could be allergic to it
And no issue stopping an antibiotics..if fever persists take paracetamol and see what other complaint you have with fever and get it evaluated
Also consult to hospital and get yourself a drug allergy card
For itching you can take over the counter antihistaminics

If it is much, consult the prescribing Dr. and change antibiotic.

What is the cause of fever? Viral? Then u dnt need antibiotics. If bacterial I need them. If one group of antibiotics is not suiting u, u need another grp. Detailed medical history is required. Kindly consult with me on 94 two six eight six 78 nine six.

Stop the antibiotic immediately, You could be allergic to it. And need more details on why you are using the antibiotic, is it based on prescription? Did you get any tests done ?
