Low grade fever while taking antibiotic
My mother was having fever of 102 oral temperature. Doctor prescribed her Faronem 200 thrice a day for 5 days..She started antibiotic since friday afternoon i.e. 14th of Dec 2025..but yesterday and today she is having temperature 99.2,99.6,99.8..When would her temperature will become normal and why even after taking antibiotic she is having these temperature??? Dengue,malaria and typhoid test are negative..

Continue medication as prescribed by your physician. Antibiotics has to continue for 3 days . Infection control take time . Repeat CBC after 3 days and then discuss with your physician

Only  antibiotics??? Add Zerodol sp3 times a day after food for 3to5 days.

Antibiotic if suitable gives results in 3 to 5 days. It seems range of fever is coming down, so hopefully she should be o.k. I'm a day or 2. Otherwise you can get a blood culture and x ray chest done and share results.

Regular paracetamol helps. Urine test: Send urine for culture and sensitivity Bloods test: CBP, CRP, Liver function tests, kidney function test Other than the fever, if she is eating and drinking okay and she has not lost ability to sit or do her normal activity, that would be an indication to get her seen by your doctor and may need short admission into a hospital. History of symptoms and detailed evaluation is needed. However if the fever spike and duration has decreased then the antibiotic seems to be working
