Hello Doctor,
I am a 37-year-old male with low-grade fever lasting the past 10 days. I have done extensive investigations:
Typhoid, Dengue, and Malaria tests – all negative.
Platelet count is dropping, now at 126,000.
CBC:
Hemoglobin: 14.3 g/dL (normal)
Total leukocyte count: 7.9 (normal)
Platelet count: 126 (low; ref: 150-450)
Liver Function Tests:
SGOT: 51 (high; ref: up to 45)
SGPT: 91.6 (high; ref: up to 45)
Other liver parameters normal.
Lipid Profile:
Total cholesterol: 204 (slightly high)
Triglycerides: 199 (high)
Widal test: Shows titers S. Typhi O and H at 1:40 (below significant threshold of 1:80), so typhoid is negative clinically.
I have been taking Zifi-O (cefixime), Doxi (doxycycline), and Dolo 650 for fever, but there is no improvement.
I have consulted with experienced doctors in Chandigarh but not able to diagnose the problem.
Please help me and guide me.
