Why can't practo be more practical about the mental health patients or anxious ones, how am I supposed to change my councellor everytime or anytime. I just came to book a session with my councellor but nope they want to give me a doctor whom I have to explain again why I'm like this and what happened all along.
This thing is giving me more and more anxiety, I just want to cry, I want to tell everything but I can't have my councellors number or anything due to these so called terms and conditions of online consultation and when I try to book an appointment, boom here is a new councellor please co-operate and tell them everything again.
Anyday if my councellor will see this, she will know what I'm talking about. I just wanted an appointment with you mam. Please respond if you are reading this.

I understand how frustrating and emotionally exhausting this must feel for you. Having to repeat your story again and again can increase anxiety instead of reducing it, and it’s completely valid that you feel overwhelmed and unheard.
Continuity with the same counsellor is very important in mental health support, because it helps build trust, comfort, and a sense of safety. When that is missing, it can feel like you’re starting from zero every time.
For now, you can try a small step to make things easier for yourself:
You may write down your main concerns or experiences once, so you don’t have to explain everything repeatedly.
While booking, you can request (if the platform allows) to continue with the same counsellor or mention your preference clearly.
You also have the right to ask the support team for continuity in care.
Most importantly, please know that your feelings matter, and you deserve consistent and understanding support. You are not alone in this, and it’s okay to ask for what you need in your healing process.
If you feel comfortable, you can also share what kind of support you are looking for right now—I’m here to listen
Hi
It makes sense you feel this way. Therapy isn’t just a service, it’s a connection, and having to repeat your story again and again can feel exhausting and unsafe. Your anxiety and urge to cry are valid because you’re losing continuity, not just an appointment.
Try checking if your counsellor is temporarily unavailable, search their name outside Practo, or contact their clinic directly. You can also write a short summary once so you don’t have to explain everything repeatedly if needed. You can even raise a request with Practo for the same therapist.
You’re not overreacting, you just want consistency and that’s completely fair.
Hi,
Namrata, I understand your frustration and the difficulty of repeatedly explaining your situation to different counselors. Consistency is important for effective therapy, and it can be exhausting to start over each time. I encourage you to communicate your need for a dedicated counselor or seek mental health providers who offer ongoing, long-term support. Remember, your feelings are valid, and support is available. Donât hesitate to express your needs clearly when booking appointments, and consider asking for a counselor you can build trust with. You're not alone, and help is still reachable.
Namrata, you shouldn’t have to fight a platform just to feel safe. You deserved that one familiar voice — and I’m sorry that got taken from you.
If you’re ready to try again with someone who will actually show up consistently for you — I’d love to be that person.
Dear concerned, I understand your distress—try to reconnect with the same counsellor through the platform or request continuity support, as a consistent therapist is important for your comfort and progress.
Hi Namrata,
Hope you are doing well.
I hear what you are saying.
Perhaps you can reach the counsellor’s private practice directly or if they do not have one try seeking counsellors who may be more accessible (have clinic emails/phone numbers)

It’s understandable that changing counsellors and repeating your concerns feels overwhelming, especially when you’re already anxious. Try to keep a short summary to avoid repeating everything. Psychological counselling will help you learn how to better regulate your emotions
Hi Namrata,
I hear how overwhelming and frustrating this experience has been for you. Having to repeat your story again and again, especially when you’re already feeling anxious, can feel exhausting and disheartening. It makes complete sense that you would want continuity and to connect with someone who already understands your journey.
Sometimes, due to platform policies or availability, counsellor assignments may change—but your comfort and sense of safety in therapy are very important. I would strongly encourage you to reach out to the support team of the platform and specifically request continuity with your previous counsellor. You can clearly express how this change is impacting your anxiety and your ability to open up.
If reconnecting with the same counsellor isn’t possible, you can ask for a detailed transfer of your case notes so you don’t have to start entirely from scratch. A good therapist will also take the time to go at your pace and not rush you into sharing everything again.
Most importantly, please know that your feelings are valid, and you deserve consistent, supportive care. You’re not alone in feeling this way, and it’s okay to advocate for what you need in your mental health journey.
Take care,
