Usually serum iron and ferritin are sufficient as it gives us idea about iron levels in blood as well as body stores of iron.
Green leafy vegetables, yellow fruits, peas ,lentils ,beans, jaggary are good vegetarian sources of iron.
Meat and fish are rich non veg sources of iron.
