Weakness and dizziness
My father aged 60 yrs had underwent CABG in 2021.He has recovered fully,no underlying disease,no sugar and pressure. However, for the past couple of months he experienced dizziness and sudden weakness.Pressure was normal we decided to take him to the hospital. He was there for 24 hrs under observation, reports were all normal.Doctor discharge him immediately saying it was due to gastric issues. Now,he is getting tired easily ..we decided to go for Sugar issue which was 166(fasting) and Triglyceride was 266. After a month, there was the same test done... Sugar is 151 and Triglycerides is 208. He is feeling weak not always but sometimes and can't able to walk that faster. Please what are the possibile steps to be taken. Thank you .

*Check blood pressure lying down and then standing up for a drop in blood pressure called Orthostatic Hypotension. *Holter ECG *You did not say what medications he is taking. As a bare minimum he should be on Aspirin, Atorvastatin, Metformin (and may be on Bisoprolol, Ramipril). *CBP, TSH, Vitamin D and HBA1C blood tests needed. All the best. www.jgsr-health-education.in

Based on the information: • Fasting sugar 166 → 151 mg/dL indicates diabetes or poorly controlled blood sugar. • Triglycerides 266 → 208 mg/dL are high, which increases cardiovascular risk. These can contribute to your symptoms. Other possible contributors include anemia, electrolyte imbalance, medication effects, or reduced cardiac efficiency after CABG
Next Steps
Take investigations include HbA1c (average sugar level over 3 months) • Complete blood count (CBC) – rule out anemia • Lipid profile (full) • Kidney function test • Electrolytes (Na, K) • ECG • 2D Echocardiography (if not done recently)
Health Tips
Follow low sugar, low refined carbohydrate diet. • Reduce fried foods, sweets, and sugary drinks. • Increase vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein. • Maintain healthy weight and regular sleep. • Monitor fasting and post-meal blood sugar regularly. Have physical activity Contact me anytime on practo for further consultation

Given your father’s history of Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG) in 2021, symptoms like dizziness, fatigue, and reduced walking capacity should be evaluated carefully even if initial hospital tests were normal. His recent reports show: • Fasting blood sugar: 151 mg/dL → suggestive of Diabetes Mellitus or impaired glucose control • Triglycerides: 208–266 mg/dL → elevated, indicating **Hypertriglyceridemia Both of these can contribute to fatigue, vascular risk, and reduced stamina. In someone with previous heart surgery, these findings need proper management to prevent future cardiovascular issues.
Next Steps
• Get an HbA1c Test to confirm whether diabetes is present and assess long-term sugar control. • Repeat a Lipid Profile Test and consult a cardiologist regarding triglyceride management. • Check **Electrocardiogram or **Echocardiography if fatigue and dizziness continue, since he has a past cardiac history. • Review his medications (if he is on blood thinners, statins, or beta blockers) because some medicines may also cause fatigue.
Health Tips
• Encourage a heart-healthy diet (less sugar, less refined carbohydrates, more vegetables, fish, and whole grains). • Maintain regular light walking, gradually increasing pace as tolerated. • Limit fried foods, sweets, and alcohol, which can worsen triglycerides. • Ensure adequate hydration and proper sleep, as dehydration can worsen dizziness. Because he has a history of heart surgery and new metabolic changes, it would be wise to review all his reports in detail. If you wish, you can book an online consultation and share his latest reports so I can guide you on the most appropriate evaluation and treatment plan for him.

These symptoms may be related to high blood sugar and elevated triglycerides, especially with a history of CABG. Next steps: Check HbA1c, ECG, CBC, thyroid profile Start proper diabetes and lipid control Maintain healthy diet, weight control, and daily walking Regular follow-up with a physician/cardiologist is advised.
