Increased Triglycerides
I recently got my blood tests done. My main concern is triglycerides and heart health due to family history (father had heart attack at age 48, grandfather and grandmother had heart-related issues). My recent report shows high triglycerides in a non-fasting sample, while HbA1c, liver enzymes and LDL are within normal range. I want a doctor's opinion on my cardiovascular risk, whether I need further tests, and guidance on diet, exercise and management of triglycerides.

"Based on the reports , triglycerides are elevated at 364 mg/dL.Since this sample was non-fasting, the triglyceride value may be overestimated to some extent, but it still warrants further evaluation, especially considering the strong family history of premature CVS disease."
Next Steps
Repeat a fasting lipid profile (12-hour fasting) after 2–4 weeks. Check BP, weight, and assess other CVS risk factors. Consider (ApoB) AND [Lp(a)] testing due to the significant family history. Regular exercise and weight management. Follow up with a physician/cardiologist with the repeat fasting lipid profile.
Health Tips
Reduce sugar, sweetened beverages, fruit juices, refined flour products, and alcohol (if consumed). Increase intake of vegetables, whole grains, pulses, nuts, and omega-3-rich foods. Avoid smoking/tobacco.
