Vitamin. D 28
Is 28 vitamin d considered low for 26 year old male? I've got these weird symptoms like I feel tired. I'm not able to do much activity sometimes, and my body also pains at different points. Had some investigations done all good, but vitamins were missed. - B12 is around 400 and D is around 28 Report says that it is low normal, but I want to know, practically if these values are responsible for my symptoms- no thyroid, uric acid, lft, cbc, sugar all ok

Vitamin D level of 28 ng/mL is considered insufficient rather than severely deficient. Vitamin B12 level within the normal range. Since thyroid profile, CBC, blood sugar and other investigations are normal, a trial of Vitamin D supplementation along with adequate sunlight exposure may be considered. If symptoms persist despite correction of Vitamin D levels, further evaluation may be required.
Next Steps
Consult a nearby physician regarding Vitamin D supplementation. Recheck Vitamin D levels after 8–12 weeks of treatment and maintain regular sunlight exposure.
Health Tips
Ensure adequate sleep, hydration, regular physical activity and a balanced diet, as these factors can also contribute to fatigue and body aches.Vitamin D level of 28 ng/mL is considered insufficient rather than severely deficient. While it can contribute to fatigue, body aches and reduced exercise tolerance, these symptoms cannot be attributed solely to Vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin B12 level of 400 pg/mL is within the normal range. Since thyroid profile, CBC, blood sugar and other investigations are normal, a trial of Vitamin D supplementation along with adequate sunlight exposure may be considered. Fatigue, muscle aches, and generalized body pain can occur with vitamin D insufficiency/deficiency, but a level of 28 ng/mL alone would not fully explain severe or persistent symptoms in every case. Vitamin D deficiency is more clearly associated with muscle weakness, bone pain, and fatigue when levels are substantially lower.
Next Steps
Since your CBC, B12, thyroid function, blood sugar, liver tests, and uric acid are normal, it would be reasonable to discuss correcting the vitamin D level (through supplementation and/or lifestyle measures) and then reassessing symptoms after a few months. You can start taking supplementation of 60K vitamin D capsule with fatty meal once weekly for 4-6weeks, and repeat the tests.
Health Tips
If symptoms persist despite normalization of vitamin D, other causes should be explored, such as iron studies (including ferritin), sleep disorders, chronic infections, autoimmune conditions, mood disorders, or other metabolic issues. Please feel free to consult.
