Dear Sir/ Maam,
The symptoms you have explained are clear but the progression of each symptom seem a little vague. You should state which symptom occurred first and what the last.
But from the preliminary data, I can see there’s a Urinary Tract infection in your friend. Though, the history of chills and rigor does appear like it’s a Proximal Urinary tract infection. Most probably Pyelonephritis or Proximal ureter intection.
Next Steps
I should recommend you to have some blood tests that I can only recommend with a consultation.
In between the wait for the test results to come I would start an Empirical Antibiotic with some other medications that will alleviate the symptoms for sure.
Health Tips
It will better if we go with the details on a verbal or video consultation for more extensive understanding of the real underlying issue. Looking forward to our consultation. Thank you. Have a good day.
URTI with UTI infection.your friends needs to be evaluate first properly. Go for cbc and basic blood culture to ruled out any specific bacteria and viral infection.consult me on practo for further management and evaluation.

Your friend has:
• Fever + chills
• Dry cough + body ache
• Upset stomach
• Sometimes burning while passing urine
This could be:
• Viral infection (like flu)
• Urine infection (UTI)
• Or both together
What should be done:
• Check temperature regularly
• Get urine routine test
• Get CBC and basic blood test
• Drink plenty of fluids
• Take paracetamol for fever
If chills are severe, fever is high, or burning urine increases — doctor visit is needed soon.
Based on your symptoms, this may require proper clinical assessment and prescription. You may book an online consultation with me for detailed evaluation and personalised treatment plan.

1 week of fever and having chills now is worth investigating.
Please ask him to visit a Doctor or Emergency department of a hospital to get evaluated properly.
Your friend’s symptoms suggest an active infection that has not fully resolved.
Timeline:
• 1 week of fever, dry cough, body ache → likely viral infection (flu-like illness)
• Now sudden chills → could indicate ongoing or secondary infection
• Upset stomach after eating → infection-related gastritis / viral effect
• Burning during urination (even occasionally) → possible urinary tract infection (UTI)
Sudden chills (rigors) after several days of fever are important — they can indicate:
• Secondary bacterial infection
• Urinary tract infection
• Kidney infection (if associated with back pain)
• Post-viral complications
This should not be ignored, especially if chills are strong.
Next Steps
Your friend should:
✔ Check temperature regularly
✔ Get blood tests:
• CBC
• CRP
• Urine routine & culture
✔ COVID/Flu test if not already done
✔ Kidney function test if urine symptoms persist
Seek urgent care if:
• High fever (>101°F)
• Severe shivering chills
• Lower back pain
• Vomiting
• Reduced urine
• Breathlessness
Do NOT start antibiotics blindly — tests should guide treatment.
Health Tips
✔ Drink plenty of fluids
✔ Oral rehydration if loose motions
✔ Light diet
✔ Rest properly
✔ Monitor urine color and frequency
Combination of fever history + chills + urinary burning suggests possible UTI or systemic infection and should be evaluated within 24 hours.
If you can share temperature readings and whether there is lower back pain, I can help risk-stratify further. Booking an online consultation would allow structured evaluation and help decide whether urgent antibiotics or hospital visit is needed.

Dear Patient,
Based on the history of fever, dry cough, and myalgia followed by sudden chills, post-meal gastric upset, and intermittent burning micturition, an active or secondary infection needs to be ruled out. Possibilities include viral illness with secondary bacterial infection or urinary tract infection.
Advice:
• Monitor temperature regularly
• Maintain adequate oral hydration
• Get investigations: CBC, CRP, Urine routine & culture
• Chest X-ray if cough persists
• Avoid self-medication or empirical antibiotics without evaluation
Urgent consultation is required if there is high-grade fever with rigors, breathlessness, persistent vomiting, reduced urine output, or marked weakness.
