Most anal fissures get better with conservative treatment (diet, stool softeners, sitz baths) and medicines that relax the anal muscle. Surgery is needed only when these measures don’t work. Hard stools or straining tear the skin inside the anus. The internal anal muscle then tightens (spasm) → blood flow drops → tear can’t heal. If stools stay hard or the muscle keeps spasm-ing, the fissure can come back. This is the most common reason for recurrence. Very rarely — true anal narrowing (anal stenosis) usually happens after surgery or severe scarring. Recurrent fissures can cause some scarring over a long time, but narrowing is uncommon if you treat early Simple step-by-step plan to try first (do these now) Soften the stools every day Keep taking Duphalac (or a stool softener) and add psyllium (Ispaghula) or other fibre gradually. Drink plenty of water. Goal: soft, easy-to-pass stools — no straining. Sitz baths — sit in warm water 10–15 minutes 2–3 times a day and after pooping. This relaxes the muscle and eases pain. Topical creams (doctor-prescribed) Creams like diltiazem or nifedipine (or GTN ointment) help relax the internal muscle and help healing. Many fissures heal with these creams in 4–6 weeks. Use as your doctor prescribes. PMC +1 Pain relief & hygiene Use simple painkillers if needed and keep the area clean and dry. If creams don’t help → doctor may recommend Botox (botulinum) injection into the sphincter which relaxes the muscle and helps heal many chronic fissures. Healing rates are good, but some people need repeat injections. Homeopathy can be used along with the above measures to reduce pain, help healing tendency and prevent recurrence — but it should be individualised after a full case-taking. I will also teach diet, stool plan and sitz baths — these are the most important steps. if you are intrested you can consult online, Regards Dr Jyoti Kadkol Health Global Homoeopathy Vijaynaagr , Bangalore

Recurrent anal fissures are quite distressing, and your concern is completely valid. In many cases, homeopathic medicines can help by addressing the root cause — such as chronic constipation, spasm of the anal sphincter, or emotional stress — and promoting natural healing of the fissure. Unlike temporary relief from laxatives, homeopathy aims to reduce recurrence by improving bowel regularity and tissue healing. Surgery is usually needed only when the fissure becomes chronic with scar tissue or persistent narrowing, but many patients respond well to individualized homeopathic treatment before reaching that stage.
Next Steps
It’s best to consult a homeopathic doctor online for a detailed case assessment. A personalized medicine plan, along with dietary and lifestyle guidance, can help you recover fully and prevent further recurrence.
Health Tips
Stay well-hydrated (at least 2.5–3 litres of water daily), include high-fibre foods like fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, and avoid straining during stools. A warm water sitz bath (10–15 minutes daily) can relax the muscles, relieve pain, and aid healing.

Yes, recurrent anal fissures can be treated effectively with homeopathy. The aim is to relieve pain, promote healing, and prevent recurrence by improving bowel habits and reducing internal strain. Surgery is not always needed unless there’s a severe chronic tear or muscle spasm. With proper constitutional and local homeopathic medicines, fissures can heal completely and your quality of life can improve. Please consult me for a detailed case study so I can guide you with the right individualized treatment.

You are absolutely right about surgery as it is not a healthy option especially when it can be cured by medicines. Yes, homoeopathic treatment can cure recurrent fissures, as it works on the cause and not just the end results. Provided you take proper suitable homoeopathic medicine selected after careful case study. What happens is people take over the counter suggestion and try homoeopathy randomly and expect miraculous results. Just find a good homoeopathic doctor of your trust and start proper treatment.

YES. Anal fissure of 2 years duration and recurrent one will definitely cure with homoeopathy. Anal fissue is due to either dryness of anal skin or due to hard stool. Recurrent and healed anal fissure will heal with scar and cause anal canal narrowing. Homoeopathy is the only non surgical procedure to prevent the recurrency. Personalised diet plan with weekly assessment of the acute condition for one month will give great relief... Followed by anus specific scar dissolving medications( oral), constitutional medicine of 5 months ( max) will improve quality of life.

Yes, through Classical Homeopathy, complete healing of anal fissure is possible. In most cases, the root cause of fissure lies in chronic constipation — when the passage of hard stool repeatedly tears the delicate anal lining, the fissure fails to heal and the pain persists. At IFAR Health, we focus on treating the root cause rather than just suppressing symptoms. Classical Homeopathy helps by correcting the underlying digestive imbalance, improving bowel movement naturally, and enhancing your body’s own healing capacity. Unlike laxatives or temporary relief medicines, Homeopathic treatment works in harmony with your body — gently, safely, and without side effects — allowing the fissure to heal permanently and preventing its recurrence. If you’ve been struggling with fissure pain and fear surgery, Homeopathy offers a natural, non-invasive and lasting solution by restoring harmony to your system in accordance with Nature’s Law of Healing.
Next Steps
Consult with a Classical Homeopathic Physician
Health Tips
1. Stop using laxatives, it will make the situation even worse. 2. Add dietary fibres in your diet like cucumber, mix sprouts, broccoli, carrot, fruits. 3. Drink 2 glasses of lukewarm water early morning after waking up. 4. You can apply normal coconut oil externally before and after stool for easy passage and to prevent further tearing of anal lining. 5. Do Sitz bath( fill a bathtub with 3-4 inches of warm water and submerge your hips and buttocks for 15-20 minutes, you can add epsom salt in the water for soothing effect) 2 times daily.
