Hello I'm Dr Nikita Iyer. In case of activities like constant cleaning of throat, heart burn, voice strain, coughing, the vocal cords tend to run against each other vigorously. This friction can cause vocal cord trauma and sometimes small bleeds which can accumulate and result in polyp formations.
Next Steps
You need to visit a speech therapist who would teach how to control your pitch and breathing to avoid voice strain.
An ENT doctor will help you medically as well as with lifestyle modifications, to get the GERD under control as well as work on the allergies. The size of the polyp could be reduced giving short course steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs after which re-evaluation will be done.
Eventually a surgery would be needed after getting fitness from the pulmonologist.
Health Tips
Ensure there is adequate hydration.
Avoid voice strain or whispering
Avoid tea/coffee empty stomach
Walk for 30 mins after dinner before lying down.
