Need fasting or empty stomach?
Does TSH and HbA1c need fasting or empty stomach? I am planning to do blood tests for TSH and HbA1c. Do these two tests require fasting or empty stomach? Can they be done at any time of the day? Is it okay if I eat food before the test? Please explain in simple words.

Does not matter if you take food or not. Both the tests can be done either ways. TSH should be preferably done in the morning , as it’s much more accurate.
Health Tips
Fasting blood sugar, Lipid profile need to be done on empty stomach. Hope this helps!

TSH: This test does not require fasting. You can eat normally before the test. It can be done at any time of the day, though many labs prefer a morning sample for consistency. Food does not affect the TSH result. HbA1c (Average blood sugar for last 3 months): This test also does not require fasting. You can eat food before the test and it can be done at any time of the day. HbA1c reflects your average blood sugar over the past 2–3 months, so a single meal does not change the result. You can do both TSH and HbA1c without fasting, on a full stomach or empty stomach, and at any convenient time of the day. Eating before the test is completely okay and will not affect these results.
