Leg joint pain, exhaustion, tiredness, and a persistent dry cough for 15 days usually suggest a post-viral infection, such as a viral flu or COVID-like viral illness, which can leave behind body aches and fatigue for 2–4 weeks. Dry cough that lasts more than 10–14 days is also common after a viral infection because the airways remain irritated even after the fever or initial symptoms settle. These symptoms do not usually indicate anything serious, but they can make you feel very weak and drained.
Next Steps
Start taking plenty of fluids, warm water, steam inhalation, and rest well. You may take a cough syrup containing levocetirizine + ambroxol or dextromethorphan for 5–7 days to reduce the dry cough. For body aches and joint pain, paracetamol or a mild anti-inflammatory can help. If cough increases at night, add PPI (like pantoprazole) in the morning, as acidity can worsen dry cough. Ensure good nutrition, and consider checking Vitamin D and B12 if weakness is severe, as deficiencies also worsen fatigue
Health Tips
If your dry cough lasts more than 3 weeks, or if you develop fever, breathlessness, chest pain, wheezing, or worsening weakness, then you should get evaluated with a chest X-ray and possibly a CRP test to rule out a lingering infection or allergic bronchitis. Otherwise, with supportive care, hydration, and rest, these post-viral symptoms usually improve within the next 5–7 days.
