Hey hi,A painless lump in the buccal mucosa that doesn't resolve with topical steroids (Kenacort) needs immediate attention, especially with a 5-year history of gutkha use. While it could be a persistent frictional keratosis or a fibroepithelial polyp, we cannot rule out Oral Potential Malignant Disorder (OPMD) without a proper investigation
Next Steps
The absolute next step is a biopsy (Incisional or Excisional) to rule out malignancy. Please consult an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon or an Oral Oncologist immediately. Most importantly, you must stop all tobacco/gutkha habits immediately to prevent further tissue damage
Health Tips
Immediate treatment required.
