Where exactly is the pus formation, the scalp or the face near nose and lips ? Start an antibiotic like co amoxyclav 1000 twice daily, paracetamol 650 thrice daily and bring him to my clinic. I need to see him clinically. Abscesses need to be drained surgically. There is no scope for theoretical procrastination on the part of the doctor. And abscesses are mostly due to bacterial infections unless it's a cold one where granulomatous infection is responsible.
