Headache-
Hello doctor, I have been experiencing a bilateral headache for the past 15 days. My Vitamin D level was 7, so I took an injection. The headache reduced for two days but then returned, possibly due to office screen time. Today, I started Betacap Plus 5 mg, and another doctor had earlier suggested Betacap TR 40. I’m confused about which one to continue. I would like to ask: Could this headache be migraine even though it is bilateral? Should I continue Betacap Plus for the next 7 days, or is Betacap TR 40 more appropriate? Can Vitamin D deficiency or the injection itself cause headaches? Are there other tests or precautions you recommend?

Yes, bilateral headache can still be migraine. Continue Betacap Plus 5 mg for 7–10 days. No need for Betacap TR 40 right now. Vitamin D deficiency can cause headaches. The injection does not cause long-lasting headaches. Do basic tests and neck/screen precautions.

Hello, I am Dr Romain Rajan, General Physician. Your case has been allotted to me. I understand your concern. A fifteen day continuous bilateral headache along with severe Vitamin D deficiency can be confusing, especially when two different doctors suggested two different medicines. Let me clarify each part step by step so you understand exactly what is happening. Advices 1 Reduce screen exposure for a few days because prolonged screen time is one of the strongest triggers for tension type headaches. 2 Maintain regular sleep and hydration as both strongly influence headache frequency. 3 Gentle neck stretching and taking breaks every forty five to sixty minutes at work can reduce muscle strain. What to Monitor 1 Headache worsening at the end of the day. 2 Neck tightness along with headache. 3 Nausea, vomiting or light sensitivity. Management Your Vitamin D level of seven is very low and can itself cause • Constant dull headache • Neck tightness • Fatigue • Heavy feeling in the head The injection often improves symptoms for a few days but the full correction takes four to six weeks. So some return of headache in the meantime is expected and normal. About the medicines • Betacap Plus 5 mg is a low dose that works well for tension type headache and mild migraine symptoms. It also has a calming effect which helps when stress or screen time triggers pain. • Betacap TR 40 is a long acting, higher dose medicine used mainly for chronic migraines or repeated headache attacks. Since you improved with Betacap Plus today, it means your headache is more likely • Tension type • Triggered by Vitamin D deficiency • Triggered by screen time and neck strain rather than classical migraine. So continuing Betacap Plus 5 mg for five to seven days is a reasonable approach. You do not need Betacap TR 40 at this stage unless headaches continue for more than three weeks or show clear migraine features. Other tests or precautions 1 A basic eye checkup if screen work is high. 2 Check BP once because fluctuating BP can worsen headaches. 3 Continue weekly Vitamin D for six to eight weeks. When to Consult a Doctor Immediately 1 Severe headache with vomiting 2 Loss of vision, double vision or weakness on one side 3 Sudden worst headache of your life Every patient’s situation is unique. For accurate diagnosis and lasting relief, it is important to discuss your symptoms, daily routine and current stress levels in detail. You can reach out to me directly for this case and also connect with me in future for any medical consultation. I am available on Practo or on WhatsApp at 85271646 seven seven for a one on one consultation where you will receive 1 A personalised treatment plan 2 Safe medicine adjustments if required 3 Quick follow ups to track your recovery Take care, wishing you good health.
