At 51, the combination of dry/hard skin, constant headache, and acidity — especially after gallbladder removal — points to a few things worth checking. First, hypothyroidism is very common in women your age and causes exactly these symptoms: dry rough skin, headaches, fatigue, and digestive issues. Second, since your gallbladder is removed, your fat absorption is altered, which can lead to deficiencies in Vitamin D, B12, and other nutrients — and that too can cause dry skin and headaches. Get a basic blood panel done: TSH (thyroid), Vitamin D, B12, and iron. Also check your blood pressure if headaches are frequent. For the acidity: since you don't have a gallbladder, bile keeps dripping into the stomach, which worsens acidity. Avoid spicy, fatty, and fried food. Eat small frequent meals and don't lie down right after eating. A short course of Pantoprazole 40mg before breakfast for 2-3 weeks often helps. For skin: use a thick moisturizer like Vaseline or urea-based cream on hands, and drink plenty of water throughout the day. Feel free to consult me on Practo for proper guidance.
