I’m 18 and I’ve had a headache for around 36 hours. It started mild before sleep but became much more severe after waking up.
The pain is across my whole head, more in the front/top. When I stay still it’s around 2/10, but even slight movement suddenly makes it extremely painful (up to 10/10) for 10–15 seconds with throbbing/pulsating pain. Light and sound also worsen it.
No fever, vomiting, weakness, confusion, vision loss, or trouble speaking. I’ve been very stressed lately, sleeping poorly, and spending long hours on screens. Paracetamol helps temporarily. This is the first headache this severe I’ve had.
What should I do?

Your symptoms are suggestive of a migraine-type headache, likely triggered by stress, lack of sleep, and prolonged screen use.
The throbbing nature of pain, worsening with movement, and sensitivity to light and sound are typical features. It is reassuring that there are no warning signs like fever, vomiting, or neurological symptoms.
If the pain does not improve, do consult me in practo for further management.
Next Steps
For relief:
Take paracetamol or ibuprofen (after food)
Rest in a quiet, dark room
Maintain good hydration
