Hi, Since your symptoms are persistent you should try the following 1. Normal saline nasal drops ( this helps decongest the nose. Don't get the ones with steroids) 2. Try to avoid exposure to cigarette smoke. It's a very common irritant
Next Steps
Consult if your symptoms are unsettling

A physical examination by a General Physician and an ENT Specialist is required. Apparently you have been suffering for more than 3 months. Quite a few investigations will also be required.

Hello,  A persistent cold with nasal blockage and heaviness for **3 months** is not typical and may indicate an underlying condition such as chronic sinusitis, allergic rhinitis, or nasal polyps. While steam inhalation with Vicks can provide temporary relief, it does not address the root cause of your symptoms.  To properly diagnose and treat your condition, I recommend:  1. **A detailed evaluation** of your nasal passages and sinuses.  2. **Targeted medication** (such as nasal corticosteroids, antihistamines, or decongestants) based on the diagnosis.  3. **Lifestyle or environmental modifications** if allergies are contributing.  Self-medicating without a proper diagnosis can delay effective treatment. Please schedule a consultation with me for a thorough assessment. For immediate assistance, you can reach me on WhatsApp at **eight zero zero nine eight two one three three two**.

Hi, Your symptoms suggest a viral infection, allergic rhinitis, or possibly sinusitis. Since you’ve been using steam and Vicks for three months without much relief, it’s worth reassessing the cause. Here’s what you can do: Nasal saline rinse – Helps clear mucus and reduce congestion. Antihistamines or decongestants – If allergies are a factor, an antihistamine may help. Decongestant nasal sprays should be used only for a few days (max 3 days) to avoid rebound congestion. Hydration & rest – Drink warm fluids, avoid cold exposure. Consult an ENT if needed – If symptoms last more than 10 days, worsen, or are accompanied by facial pain/pressure, it could be a bacterial sinus infection needing further evaluation.

Consult a ENT specialist
