What do you mean by blood infection...?? Is there raised count of WBC...? If raised then try to find out the cause why it is raised and treat the cause and how much it is raised.... Raised wbc count is corrected by antibiotics (Not by blood transfusion). Is your uncle in SEPSIS...?? There are lot of questions need to be answered. For details you can contact through practo.

No, a blood infection (sepsis) cannot be cured by a blood transfusion. Blood transfusion only replaces blood (for anemia or bleeding). It does not kill infection. Blood infections are treated with strong IV antibiotics, fluids, and treatment of the source of infection. If your uncle needed dialysis, it suggests the infection has affected his kidneys or caused severe body stress. Dialysis helps remove toxins and excess fluids — it does not treat the infection itself, but supports the body while treatment works.
Next Steps
• Confirm if this is sepsis or severe bloodstream infection • Ensure he is receiving appropriate IV antibiotics (often after blood cultures) • Identify and treat the source of infection (urine, lungs, dialysis line, wounds, etc.) • Close monitoring in hospital or ICU may be needed • Kidney function should be followed regularly
Health Tips
If you’d like, I can review the reports, explain the severity, and guide you on what questions to ask the treating team. A focused consultation can help you understand his condition and next steps clearly.

No blood infection cannot be cured via blood transfusion. Culture and then antibiotics are required. But detailed clinical history is required before starting any investigations.
