Vegetables are mainly preferred for their low calorific value and to introduce fibre/vitamins to your diet. There are very few vegetables like potatoes which are high in carbohydrates and to a lesser extent corn, peas etc. As they are high in carbohydrates they will help in weight gain. However frying vegetables, adding butter/ghee to food will increase the calories in all foods.
Health Tips
Regularly eating Fried food should be avoided as this might be a difficult habit to break as the child grows up
