Also i want to go for whole abdomen usg test to verify whether all my organs are fine or not as in my childhood i have some liver problem which get corrected at that time but still want to check it now. Hello. I have reviewed your concerns regarding the pain and heaviness you are experiencing. It is very common for patients to have questions about imaging, especially when researching symptoms online. Here is a clear breakdown of the next steps for your evaluation: 1. Safety of Ultrasound (USG) Non-Harmful: To answer your primary concern—ultrasound is completely safe and not harmful. Unlike X-rays or CT scans, ultrasound does not use radiation; it uses high-frequency sound waves to create images. There are no known side effects, and it is a painless, non-invasive procedure. 2. Logistics: Combining the Tests Single Appointment: Yes, both the USG Scrotum and USG Whole Abdomen can be performed in the same session, at the same diagnostic center, and by the same radiologist. Preparation: For the "Whole Abdomen" portion, you will typically need to be fasting (empty stomach) for about 6 to 8 hours to ensure a clear view of the liver, gallbladder, and other organs. Additionally, you may be asked to have a full bladder for the pelvic/prostate portion of the scan. 3. Clinical Context Liver History: Given your childhood liver history, a whole abdomen USG is an excellent way to baseline your current organ health. Scrotal Pain: The scan will help us rule out common causes of heaviness such as a varicocele (enlarged veins), hydrocele, or any inflammatory issues (epididymitis). Next Steps: I recommend booking a "USG Whole Abdomen and Scrotum" at a reputable imaging center. Once you have the radiologist's report, please upload it here. Along with the report, it would be helpful to know if you have noticed any swelling or if the pain increases after standing for long periods.

Your concerns regarding the scrotal pain and heaviness are perfectly valid, and it is wise to investigate them through a USG Scrotum. To answer your first question: Ultrasound is completely safe and non-harmful. Unlike X-rays or CT scans, it uses high-frequency sound waves, not radiation, so there are no side effects or risks involved. Regarding your second request, a USG Whole Abdomen is an excellent way to check the current health of your liver and other internal organs, especially given your childhood history
Next Steps
Yes, both tests can be performed in the same sitting/setup. You do not need to book separate appointments. In fact, it is often more convenient to do them together as the radiologist can review both areas during a single session. Just ensure you follow any specific instructions provided by the diagnostic center, such as arriving on an empty stomach (for the abdominal scan) and having a full bladder if required."
Health Tips
Since you are experiencing heaviness, avoid wearing tight clothing on the day of the test. Also, try to note down if the pain increases with physical activity or prolonged standing, as this information will be very helpful for the doctor when correlating with your USG results. Once you have the reports, please share them here for a comprehensive evaluation."

Hi, your symptoms of pain and heaviness in the scrotum need proper evaluation. USG scrotum is a safe test (no radiation) and will help identify the cause. You can also do whole abdomen USG in the same visit both can be done together. Don’t worry, these are common and usually manageable once we know the cause. I would suggest getting the tests done first. Once you have the reports, I can review them and guide you further. Feel free to book a consultation with me.
