As you live in canada The deficiency is mostly due to low sunlight exposure. For vitamin D deficiency please take calcirol (60,000IU) With milk weekly and tab- shelcal 500mg after lunch and dinner daily for 4 weeks and after that repeat the vitamin D test. HDL is good type of  cholesterol And VLDL , LDL are of bad type But we require both type for proper function As you have slightly increased cholesterol level, so please cut down on oily and fatty foods, and increase your green vegetables and fruit consumption.
