If you're looking for only diet approach, need to know the exact vitamin levels and your symptoms. If it's lower normal or borderline levels then diet can be tried (both are generally low in vegetarian diet though), but proper deficiency needs to be treated with supplements. There are options available nowadays in market which are vegetarian. As for Vitamin D causing stones, vitamin d CAN accumulate in the body in case of overdosage but is completely safe as well as helpful in the right dose. Renal (kidney) stones are 1 of the side effects of Vitamin D overdose among many.

Increase intake of vitamin D-rich foods like fortified plant-based milk, mushrooms, and cereals, and vitamin B12-rich foods like fortified nutritional yeast, plant-based milk, and cereals, or consider supplements after consulting a healthcare professional.
