Hello, I am Dr Romain Rajan, General Physician. Your case has been allotted to me. I understand your concern. You have recently done blood work showing • Vitamin D = 18.1 ng per ml (low) • Vitamin B12 = 249 pg per ml (borderline low) You already completed three weeks of Neurobion Forte and are continuing Uprise 60K weekly. Now you are unsure whether oral B12 is enough or you should switch to injections. Many people get confused because of mixed information online. Let me clarify this clearly and medically. Advices 1 Continue your weekly Vitamin D as advised because your value is still low and needs improvement. 2 Maintain a balanced diet with dairy, eggs and pulses as they support natural B12 absorption. 3 Avoid taking tea or coffee around meals as they reduce absorption of both B12 and iron. What to Monitor 1 Tingling or numbness in hands or feet 2 Fatigue or low stamina 3 Mouth ulcers or burning tongue If these symptoms worsen, stronger B12 therapy is needed. Management Your B12 level of two hundred and forty nine is borderline, not severely low. Neurobion Forte is helpful for mild deficiency, but it is true that • Its B12 dose is small • It works slowly • It may not be enough for people with absorption issues Whether you need injections depends on your symptoms. You should consider B12 injections if • You still have tingling, numbness or nerve pain • You feel fatigue or brain fog • Oral tablets are not improving your symptoms • You have gastric issues, acidity, IBS or poor absorption B12 injections are very safe and rapidly restore levels. A standard injection schedule is • One methylcobalamin injection every week for four weeks followed by • One injection every fifteen days for one month then • Once a month for maintenance, if needed This course gives excellent improvement and is often used when tablets are not enough. Vitamin D Continue Uprise 60K once weekly for eight weeks total, then shift to every fifteen days for two months. You can definitely start B12 injections if symptoms are continuing. I can guide you with exact brand, dose and duration after knowing your symptom pattern. When to Consult a Doctor Immediately 1 Sudden numbness or severe weakness 2 Balance problems or walking difficulty 3 Severe fatigue not improving Every patient’s situation is unique. For accurate diagnosis and lasting relief, it is important to discuss your symptoms, digestion issues and medical history in detail. You can reach out to me directly for this case and also connect with me in future for any medical consultation. I am available on Practo or on WhatsApp at 85271646 seven seven for a one on one consultation where you will receive 1 A personalised supplementation plan 2 Safe dose adjustments if required 3 Quick follow ups to monitor your recovery Take care, wishing you good health. 1.your B12 is borderline low. Neurobion is not wrong but not the most effective. 2.Methylcobalamin injections are safe & effective-but only after your doctor approves. 3. Do not self-start injections. Ask your doctor and let them decide the schedule. 4.your vitamin D is low
Next Steps
1.Vit B12 Injection give faster improvement but safe when prescribed by doctor 2.your vitamin D is low uprise D3 60K weekly is the right treatment. For 6-8 weeks but only if doctor prescribed
