Hello, I understand your concern.
You had low levels of Vitamin B12 (178 pg/ml, which is deficient) and Vitamin D3 (26 ng/ml, which is insufficient). That is why injections were given.
🔹 About injections:
Vitamin B12 and D3 injections are generally safe and effective.
Sometimes, mild side effects like pain at the injection site, muscle aches, mild nausea, or general weakness can occur.
These usually settle on their own within a few days.
🔹 Your current symptoms (hand pain, weakness, nausea):
These are not serious but could be related either to the injections or to your low vitamin levels themselves (because recovery takes time).
Since your last injections were on 9th August (D3) and 21st August (B12), it is less likely to be a reaction now. Instead, these may be due to ongoing deficiency recovery or another cause like acidity, dehydration, or general fatigue.
🔹 What you should do:
1. Drink enough water and maintain a balanced diet (green leafy vegetables, milk, eggs, fish, nuts).
2. Take oral supplements as prescribed by your doctor to maintain vitamin levels after injections.
3. Regular exercise and sunlight exposure (20 min/day) will help in Vitamin D.
4. Avoid excess tea/coffee and alcohol as they can worsen weakness.
🔹 When to consult immediately:
If you develop severe persistent vomiting, tingling/numbness worsening in hands/feet, high fever, breathing difficulty, or yellowing of eyes/skin.
🔹 Follow-up:
Repeat Vitamin B12 and D3 levels after 2–3 months to check improvement.
Continue maintenance supplements as per your doctor’s advice.
👉 Overall, nothing serious is suggested by your symptoms right now, but monitoring and lifestyle support are important. If weakness continues, get reviewed by your physician for other causes like anemia, thyroid, or blood sugar imbalance.
These are the basic side effects of taking vitamin injections. You can take medicine if it’s bothering your daily activities. Consult if you need to know about which medication to take.
