Child is active and eating good sign, you can wait . Try to control the cold , cold may causing the cough and fever. This type of viral fevers usually subside within 4-5 days ; wait one day ,doctor will have time to decide if fever was not come down.

Even if it’s the 4th day of fever, you can wait another 2 days as long as the child is active and feeding well.
However, visit doctor immediately if you notice any of the following:
Fast or difficult breathing, Vomiting more than 4 times, Lethargy or unusual sleepiness, Passing urine less than 2 times a day, Poor oral intake, Rash, Abdominal pain
Viral fever can continue for 5 days.
Since the child is active and eating properly, there is nothing to worry.
Keep him/her hydrated. Continue paracetamol as and when required
