This may still be part of a viral upper respiratory tract infection/post-viral throat irritation with cough. Since symptoms have recurred after initial improvement, a pediatric examination is advisable to look for throat infection, tonsillitis, post-nasal drip, or chest involvement. ENT consultation is not immediately necessary in most cases unless there is severe throat pain, difficulty swallowing, breathing difficulty, muffled voice, neck swelling, or recurrent/persistent symptoms despite treatment.
