Greetings
It is typical for a fever to recur every few hours while the body fights an infection, even after starting treatment. Antibiotics generally take 48 to 72 hours to show a noticeable effect on bacterial symptoms. Continue the full course of medication exactly as your doctor prescribed. Seek immediate medical evaluation if your child becomes extremely lethargic, has difficulty breathing, or shows signs of dehydration like not urinating. Also, contact your pediatrician if the fever persists for more than 5 days or exceeds 104°F (40°C)
Fever with cold/cough in children commonly lasts 3–5 days, and fever can rise again once the effect of Crocin wears off after 6 hours. Antibiics also usually take 48–72 hours to start showing clear improvement if bacterial infection is present.
Next Steps
Continue the medicines as advised by your doctor, keep your child well hydrated, and monitor activity, breathing, urine output, and feeding.
Health Tips
Please seek urgent review if there is fast breathing, chest indrawing, persistent vomiting, refusal to eat/drink, unusual sleepiness, seizures, bluish lips, or fever persisting beyond 5 days.
