Understanding of ocd
My name is bharat thakkar I am suffering ocd which caused me to be paranoid I have been suffering this from 16years But no relief always being suspicious because of always conflicts persecutory delusions So the experience taught me I am on medications Now what I understood is that the patient should not try to become a doctor If you try to cure ocd on your own you are giving importance to thought Which then increases it and the problem worsens So the best thing you can do is not treat it on your own take your medications And that's it Needed you doctors feedback

Hi Bharat, thank you for sharing this so openly. Living with OCD for so many years can make a person mentally tired and constantly alert, especially when the mind keeps creating doubt, suspicion, fear, and overthinking. After a point, it stops feeling like “just thoughts” and starts feeling completely real and convincing. That can be very painful and lonely. What you have understood is actually important. Many people with OCD keep trying to mentally solve every thought, check whether it is true, or fight it alone. But the more importance we give to the thought, the more the brain keeps throwing it back. It becomes a loop. Medication can help calm the intensity, but therapy helps you understand how to slowly stop getting trapped by the mind’s tricks. OCD is very treatable when worked on properly and patiently. You do not have to fight this battle alone or keep suffering silently for years. Take therapy. You can connect with me on nine two six six seven two six zero six five.

Thank you for sharing your journey, Bharat. Your insight—that trying to 'fix' these thoughts yourself can actually make them stronger—is a major step toward recovery. Regarding your symptoms, it is very important to discuss the 'persecutory delusions' and 'paranoia' with your doctor. In clinical practice, we distinguish between OCD and other conditions:OCD usually involves intrusive thoughts that a person knows are irrational but feels stuck on.Delusions and Paranoia are typically signs of the psychotic spectrum, such as Schizophrenia, where the line between thoughts and reality becomes blurred.
Next Steps
Because the treatment for OCD is different from the treatment for psychosis, a precise diagnosis is key. This ensures you are on the specific medication needed to balance your brain chemistry. Please share these specific feelings of 'suspicion' with your psychiatrist so they can tailor your plan perfectly.

Your understanding is thoughtful. In OCD, trying to “solve” every thought yourself can sometimes increase attention to the obsession and make distress worse. Medication and proper therapy — especially CBT with ERP — are usually more effective than constantly analyzing thoughts alone. At the same time, persistent persecutory ideas or severe suspiciousness should be evaluated carefully by a psychiatrist, because not everything is explained only by OCD. Continue regular follow-up and don’t stop medicines without medical advice. Wishing you steady recovery.

“You have understood an important aspect of OCD — excessive self-analysis and repeatedly trying to ‘solve’ thoughts on one’s own can sometimes increase anxiety and strengthen the obsessive cycle. In OCD, intrusive thoughts are symptoms of the illness and not reflections of reality or character. Regular treatment, proper medications, psychotherapy (especially CBT with ERP), stress management, and consistent follow-up usually help significantly. At the same time, symptoms like severe suspiciousness or fixed persecutory beliefs should be evaluated carefully by a psychiatrist because sometimes other conditions can coexist with OCD. Continue treatment regularly and stay connected with your mental health professional.” For consultation, u can directly msg on nine nine three one zero four five zero zero eight.
