I have ocd. I was taking fluvoxin cr 100 mg twice a day and everything was good. Then my doctor increased the dose to 250 mg a day. i took 250 mg for 4 days and my ocd increased. So i stopped taking 250 mg and switched back to taking 100 mg twice a day. Now it has been 5 days since i am taking 100 mg twice a day but after taking 100 mg at daytime my body feels very weak and i have head pain. Why is this happening? How to cure?

Hey, because of rapid shifts in the dose, these symptoms occur, do not worry, the body takes time to adjust. You will start feeling better in a few days. Just continue the same dose which you are taking.
Next Steps
Do not worry, consult your psychiatrist if symptoms do not get resolved.

Hello,
The dose of fluvoxamine was increased to 250 mg for a few days and then reduced back to 200 mg (100 mg twice daily). Sudden dose changes — both increasing and decreasing — can sometimes lead to temporary side effects such as headache, weakness, fatigue, or mild increase in anxiety/OCD symptoms.
When the dose is increased, the body takes time to adjust. When it is reduced again within a short period, the nervous system may again need time to stabilize. These symptoms are usually transient and settle within a few days to a couple of weeks.
However, frequent dose adjustments without medical supervision can make symptoms fluctuate and increase discomfort.
Next Steps
• Continue the currently prescribed dose unless your doctor advises otherwise.
• Avoid changing the dose on your own.
• Schedule a follow-up to discuss whether 200 mg is adequate or whether a slower titration plan is needed.
Health Tips
In OCD, higher doses are often required, but dose increases should be gradual and monitored.
• Temporary worsening of anxiety can sometimes occur after dose changes.
• If you develop severe restlessness, confusion, vomiting, tremors, or worsening symptoms, seek medical review promptly.
Often people who have ocd have dear of loosing control maybe you has a controlling parent or a controlling partner or you fear that if uncertainty comes you would be obsolete

You increased fluvoxamine to 250 mg, then reduced it back to 200 mg (100 mg twice daily).
Your current symptoms (weakness, headache) are commonly due to:
• Dose fluctuation effect (sudden increase + decrease)
• Mild SSRI side effects
• Transient discontinuation-like symptoms after dose reduction
Fluvoxamine can cause:
• Headache
• Fatigue
• Weakness
• Initial anxiety worsening when dose is changed
What to do:
✔ Continue the stable 100 mg twice daily for now
✔ Take it after food
✔ Stay hydrated
✔ Give it 1–2 weeks to settle
If symptoms:
• Persist beyond 10–14 days
• Become severe
• Or OCD worsens significantly
→ Consult your psychiatrist before changing dose again.
Do not keep adjusting dose on your own — OCD treatment needs gradual titration.
Hi. To understand your condition better additional information may be needed. Why was the dose increased? Were there some symptoms present at that particular time. And it is unlikely that the OCD symptoms increase after increasing the dose of medications. The symptoms you are experiencing may be part of reduction of the dose which will subside usually within a short period of time.
