I m having knee pain and am not able to walk more den a few minutes. Doctor has suggested unicompartmental surgery. Is set any other solution to Dis as am unable to spend so much and am able to bear pain either. Plz help

Firstly You need to make sure that you are suffering from arthritis. Then if so, i recommend that you take a MRI to confirm the same. For me unicompartmental surgery in 70year old is a bit of risky business. Have you tried and exhausted all your non surgical alternatives? Exercises being the major part. Then if so, keeping in mind that you have confirmed arthritis, for your age i would personally go for a total knee rather an unicompartmental knee. Take care.
it is a difficult situation. I am sure there are municipal or govt hospitals that would under take knee replacement at a lesser cost due to govt schemes in place.
