Throat concern
Hi, I have had a sore throat for 2 days now and this morning when I was gargling, there was blood in the mucus when I spat. I wanted to know if this is normal?

It’s common for a sore throat to cause some irritation, especially with coughing or frequent throat clearing, which can sometimes lead to minor bleeding in the mucus. This could be due to inflamed or irritated blood vessels in the throat lining. However, if the bleeding continues, or if there are other symptoms like high fever, difficulty swallowing, or persistent cough, it's important to rule out more serious causes such as an infection or injury to the throat. You can try staying hydrated, using warm salt water gargles, and avoiding irritants like smoking. If the issue persists or worsens, please consult me for a better evaluation and treatment plan, or feel free to reach me on WhatsApp at eight zero zero nine eight two one double three two.
