Treatment of thick yellow cough (suggestive of bacterial infection or mucus buildup):
Hydration – Drink plenty of fluids to thin mucus.
Steam inhalation – Helps loosen phlegm.
Expectorants – e.g., guaifenesin to help clear mucus.
Antibiotics – Only if bacterial infection is confirmed (e.g., azithromycin or amoxicillin, as prescribed).
Cough syrup – As per symptoms (with or without bronchodilators).
Rest – Support immune recovery.
Consult doctor – Especially if fever, chest pain, or symptoms last >7 days.

Hii
It's most probably pointing to bacterial 🦠 infection of the throat
Have to take proper course of appropriate antibiotics and anti allergic meds
To suppress them fully
Without proper course
This will again come n bacteria get resistant to mild power of antibiotics
U can consult me here for proper treatment
Thnks
This can happen due to possible sinus congestion, which is common after viral infections. There is nothing to worry about.
Next Steps
I would suggest SINCERELY trying home remedies first, such as
1. Warm water gargles before and after bed time
2. Steam inhalation thrice a day
If the above mentioned methods don't work, you can try
1. Antiallergic drugs
2. Mucolytic drugs
Health Tips
Please be patient and allow the body to rest and recover with plenty of fluids.
Your husband shall recover in 7-10 days
AVOID
1. Eating cold and sweet foods for atleast a week
2. Eating 2 hours before bed
3. Milk before bed for atleast a week
NOTE : If your husband develops fever, please consult a physician
Hoping this was helpful,

This looks like an acute upper respiratory infection. Apparently he did not take the full course of antibiotics. He should consult his doctor for a physical examination so that , if required, a further course of antibiotics may be prescribed.
It could be a viral upper respiratory infection followed by a bacterial infection. He can take antibiotics like cepodem 200 mg twice daily for 5 days, steam inhalation and mucolytic syrup.

It's best if he consults with his doctor who'll examine him and decide on the further management

Given his history of viral infection, currently having sputum with mucous can be indicative of bacterial infection . For now , take syp brozedex wet cough and t. Mucinac 600 bd . If symtoms are still persistent , connect . Will do the needful.
It’s common for some yellow mucus to appear for a few days after a viral infection, especially if your husband had runny nose and sneezing last week.
What This Could Be:
1. Post-viral mucus drainage – After a cold or viral infection, mucus may thicken and drain down the throat, leading to yellowish sputum, especially in the morning.
2. Post-nasal drip – This causes frequent spitting or throat clearing.
3. Sinus involvement – If there’s mild sinus inflammation left, it can produce yellow mucus.
4. If no fever, chest pain, or breathlessness, it is not likely a serious infection.
Advise:
1. Give steam inhalation twice a day to help loosen the mucus.
2. Warm fluids like soup or herbal tea will soothe the throat.
3. A saline nasal spray can help clear nasal passages.
4. If needed, a mucolytic syrup like Ambroxol
5. Tab Azee 500 — 0 - 1 - 0 x 5 days (after food)
Steam inhalation with Vicks or eucalyptus oil.
Tab zerodol sp three times a day after food for 5 days.
Tab azee500 one per day after food for 5 days.
Montek lc one at night for 5 days.
What your husband is experiencing sounds like post-viral mucus drainage, which is common after a viral upper respiratory tract infection. Here’s what it may indicate:
✅ Possible Causes:
1. Post-nasal drip:
• After a cold or viral infection, mucus from the sinuses or nasal cavity can drain into the throat overnight.
• This mucus can appear yellow due to trapped cells and debris.
2. Sinus involvement:
• Mild sinus inflammation or sinusitis (even without facial pain) can produce yellow mucus that gets coughed or spit out in the morning.
3. Dehydration or dry air:
• Can make mucus thicker and more noticeable in the morning.
Next Steps
Optional Medications (only after doctor’s advice):
• Mucolytic syrup (e.g., Ambroxol) to loosen mucus
• Antihistamines if post-nasal drip continues
• Nasal decongestant spray (short-term use only)
