I came down with what I presumed to be a sinus infection, and I do not have health insurance. A family member gave me a bottle of 500 mg amoxicillin and although I feel better after about 3 days of taking it, I don't know if I should continue.

I can understand your concern.
Take it for 2 more days twice a day.
And quit.
If it happens again, don't self medicate.
Get it checked out by a ENT specialist in person for further evaluation and management.
