Yes u can , start semi solids slowly and carefully. For some babies breast feeding may not enough at 5 months. .In Europian countries they start early .Give 1-2 meals ; Plus breatfeeding upto 2 yrs and above .
Complete gut enzymes will developed at 6 months.
Exclusive breastfeeding till 6m completion is recommended. But if you have any compelling reasons, you can start complementary feeding.
If you are a working mother, you can express breast milk and store in fridge and use for feeding when you are not available.
You can start now provided if the baby have achieved complete Neck holding and Baby is having so much of saliva drooling from mouth then it's time for solid food
