11 month old not eating solids, weight c
My baby boy (11.5 months) was born at 2.4 kg and currently weighs 7 kg. He is not interested in solids and does not open his mouth for feeding. He only takes 1–3 bites occasionally (like pancake) on his own; otherwise, he plays with food. Earlier he accepted banana, but now refuses even to taste it. He is mostly on breastmilk. I have started iron and multivitamin drops, but there is no improvement. Kindly advise how to improve his eating and whether his weight is a concern.

Hello pricky eating is quite common in toddlers and quite many times they show alot of tantrums in eating and this is a normal behaviour.. Every child is different so no need to compare your child with any one . You just need to keep on trying multiple times and offer the food in shorter duration with multiple times .. This is the only way
Next Steps
No need of stress

Hi 😊 Your baby’s weight is a bit concerning — at 11.5 months, ~7 kg is on the lower side, especially since birth weight was 2.4 kg. Main issue: not accepting solids + mostly breastfeeding → calories are not enough at this age. What we can do: * Avoid force feeding (it can worsen refusal) *Give some gap before breastfeeding (don’t feed just before meals) *Try 3 meals + 2 snacks daily (even small amounts are okay) * Allow self-feeding (finger foods like soft roti, pancake, boiled potato, banana pieces) *Offer family foods in mashed form (dal, khichdi, daliya, upma, egg if non-veg) * Add high-calorie foods – ghee, butter, peanut paste (if no allergy), curd *Repeat the same food 10–15 times before expecting acceptance *Avoid screen-based feeding
Next Steps
Important checks: ✔ Hemoglobin (rule out anemia) ✔ Growth chart (to assess growth faltering) ✔ Oral issues / teething / infections ✔ Developmental milestones
