I have severe anxiety (particularly with automobiles and airplanes) and it's gotten fired and semester failures and social outcasting. My doctors have tried three or four SSRIs (Prozac, Lexapro, Celexa, etc. [for 4-6 months each]), and besides the few weeks they had me on low doses of benzodiazepines. They helped REMARKABLY. I'm currently getting prescribed 400mg Seroquel and 100mg Trazadome, and those definitely helped my insomnia, but not my anxiety all too much. I just wish I could get help.

Medication alone does not help in many cases. It is usually recommended that you should combine medication with psychotherapy. A combined effort will help you to regulate your emotions and learn effective coping skills / strategies. Psychotherapy helps in symptom management / reduction. It may help you to get rid of your anxiety or manage it effectively. Please seek help from an experienced and qualified Psychotherapist.
