My mom had a tumour in thyroid gland of right side frm last 5 years we just get admitted to a hospital and by surgical operation removed it and Dr. S snded that tumour to fr testing the report telling that she is having papillary carinoma on left side again she hv to undergo surgey left thyroid gland also. And they ll remove that.

She seems to have undergone right hemithyroidectomy for right sided thyroid swelling and biopsy report if shows features of papillary carcinoma then definitely she needs to undergo completion thyroidectomy to remove left lobe of the thyroid gland. This is very common in clinical practice and often required in such situations. Prognosis of papillary carcinoma if excellent and she will get complete cure if completion thyroidectomy with post operative radioactive iodine ablation is given
