I usually gets pain outside of knee whenever I play something otherwise it is not their.the pain remains for few days and then goes away.but again come when u play or exert

It's better to have a proper warm up stretching exercise for hamstring quadriceps pelvic muscle while playing
Its risk to play in indoor smooth surface as friction is more and needs proper shoes
Check your knee xray. One leg standing AP view with your nearby Ortho dr.
Moslty it can be jumpers knee or sport related issue

Do regular exercise other than sports
