I am having a pain in the knee area , which occurs mostly when i walk too much.
a click sound comes often when post and during excess walking, which subsides post taking sleep/rest for few hours.
i have shown it to the doctor last year who told it as chondromalacia patella, while i consulted another doctor couple of days back who says its a normal wear and tear around knee/cartigen.
he has advised me to do the exercise and taken two medicines:
cartigen forte (twice a day) and
CMD (once a day)
i have below questions:
1. are these medicines necessary ? or can i just exercise and cure them?
2. Can these medicines cause some other side effects ?
3. how can i be sure that there is not problem as i hear click sound and always feel some mental blockage that i have some problem in my knee ?

The best way to know what is happening with your knee is to do an MRI scan. That will give us all the information that is needed to make a diagnosis. It appears that you have a cartilage tear which may be causing the problem.
You can take the medications, but without a diagnosis, they may not be very helpful.

Hi
If you are generally an active person involved basically in a lot of walking, jogging and running then there are high chances that its normal wear and tear. You should not be worried about the click sound as in most cases it is not a sign of any disorder.
ADVICE
I would recommend knee strenghthening exercises and till your knee gets really strong use a knee support while walking.
Avoid sitting on low surfaces and on the floor.
Avoid walking on uneven surfaces and wear proper shoes while walking.
Next Steps
Take a break from stressful activities for sometime and concentrate on knee strenghthening.
